Seeing is believing
Built using proven methodology
In partnership with visualisation, the capacity for imagination enables us to envision different possibilities. Without knowing it, when we're placed in a space that allows us to fill in the gaps with our own story powerful deep thinking can occur.
Visualise
Create a 3D representation of the situation using avatars to represent those involved. Simply set the characters, positions, dialogue and postures to represent what's happening.
Explore
Rethinkly helps you explore the situation from different viewpoints, so you understand more deeply what’s going on. Using the power of imagination to gain deeper understanding.
Reflect
Finally, you’ll be supported to explore what alternatives you may have to improve the situation, and use the new insights to bring clarity and decide on actions or next steps.
Proven ways to get new insights:
1. Step back
Stop bouncing from screen to screen. Rethinkly slows you down. You will be encouraged to think about aspects of your life you normally don’t have the time for.
2. Use visual language and expression
Most of us use imagery and symbols so much in our everyday language for example “Things feel up hill today” or “We need to hit targets”. In Rethinkly symbols and images are used to help describe a story, make sense of things and where needed communicate clearly with others.
3. Own the problem
Rethinky is designed to help you solve your own problems - it doesn't provide advice. We believe in the importance of the user building agency and confidence, feeling empowered to think differently and solve problems themselves.
4. A different point of view
Rethinkly helps you get 'out of the box' as you start thinking about what it’s like from different perspectives. As this is not an everyday way of thinking it takes effort – something the brain wants to avoid! So, Rethinkly makes finding insight easy with the use of simple prompts and alternative views.
5. Flexibility
Understanding fixed beliefs that may be getting in the way of finding a solution. Changing your mindset from fixed to flexible gives us the ability to recognise the beliefs we hold that might not be fact or evidence-based. In Rethinkly you’re invited to reflect on the beliefs you bring to a situation and assess whether these might be supporting or getting in the way of finding a solution.
Why are your avatars faceless?
Because it’s enough for our brain to make the connection. With the name and colour you give them identity.
Why do you use such simple design?
Similar to why we designed the avatars, by leaving the details out, we enable a space for you to create in.
How did you choose the symbols?
As children we find a stick and that stick becomes an extension of our imagination and we make it what we want it to be.
A growing body of evidence
Rigorous academic testing proves that Rethinkly can help drive positive change by providing the space for deeper thinking.
To save you reading all this research, we've boiled it down into the main reasons why people find Rethinkly helpful.
